1, HIA – as the first NGO from Hungary - has offered more than 10 000 euros' worth of humanitarian emergency aid to provide care for Maidan victims. With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary rehabilitation program was organized in Hungary for several successive groups of doctors and nurses who had ensured care for the wounded in Maidan square.

2, Humanitarian coordination: Training courses held by Hungarian Interchurch Aid  in 2013 allowed Ukrainian disaster management and civil experts to acquire the knowledge that is currently being used all over Ukraine in the activities to support IDPs fleeing en masse.

3, Based on international request, HIA has been involved in IDP care at multiple locations since 2014 through providing tangible assistance (food- and hygienic kits, household appliances and baby care packages) for  about 24 thousand internally displaced persons in 10 regions (oblasts): Transcarpathia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Kherson, Kiev, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia.

4, In order to strengthen its activities in Eastern-Ukraine, HIA has launched psycho-social counseling for those who had endured the traumas of war, in Zaporizhia and Donetsk oblasts on 10 June 2015.

5, In the end of May and beginning of June of 2015 3000 persons received aid packages in Beregovo, Kiev and Dnipropetrovsk. This phase was implemented with the EUR 50 000 supports of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Embassy of Hungary in Kiev.

6, A new aid program has been added to HIA’s activities in Ukraine from the beginning of October, 2015. In the new phase of the large-scale international aid program supported by ACT Alliance (worth EUR 700 000) , winter fuel was distributed for 500 families in Kharkiv, Zaporozhia and Kherson counties with the cooperation of HIA’s local partners.
In addition to its fuel distribution program, IDPs of the neighboring country are also assisted by HIA through reconstruction of refugee centers.  Each of the two reconstructed buildings in Kharkiv and Kherson counties can provide temporary accommodation for 80 families. HIA’s activities in two counties of Eastern Ukraine are complemented with psycho-social assistance for those struggling with war traumas.

The value of the humanitarian action launched in response to the invitation of and from funds provided by the Geneva-based international alliance (ACT Alliance) has reached EUR 1 500 000
